We took a poll and these are the products, services, and stuff the eNilsson Team can’t live without:
Apple
Since moving the offices from a PC platform to Macs, our IT maintenance costs have plummeted. The effort to change has been well worth it!
Blendtec
Blendtec’s web strategy is inspirational. By simply posting creative videos of their blenders chopping up random objects (we like the iPhone frappe), Blendtec has increased their sales from $2M to $10M in one year.
EverNote
EverNote combined with an iPhone is a magical tool that allows you to save everything! Every thought, every picture, every drawing. It is basically a database that, allows you to upload notes, pictures and sound files from your iPhone. EverNote then does character recognition on the text in your pictures so you can easily find images using a search on your computer. The coolest part is that EverNote saves the longitude and latitude from the image so you will always know from where the picture was taken.
We take pictures of our meeting notes so that they are searchable from our network. It is pretty cool!
Glance
Reasonably priced screen sharing.
iRobot Roomba
If your are as attracted to all things automated as we are, the purchase of our first Roomba was a no-think. We are so chuffed to have our own soon-to-destroy-all-mankind robotic vacuum cleaner. Not only is it a robot but it does a great job too. Huzzah! The perfect level of acceptable practicality and frivolousness.
MindManager
Great tool for managing complex information architectures or random thoughts.
Nabaztag
Nabs are great ways to monitor internet applications without having to sit in front of your computer. We’ve developed our own application so our herd (is "herd" correct for a pack of rabbits?) of Nabaztags can notify us when our clients need our help.
Neptune Oyster
Neptune Oyster at 63 Salem Street in Boston serves the best lobster rolls on the planet. Make sure you order the HOT lobster roll with fries. A hot lobster roll with a bun super-saturated in butter puts this New England staple light years ahead of all others.
Panic Software
Panic creates fantastic coding tools, the development team lives through Coda and Transmit. Sorry Charlie, Panic Software is only for Macs.
Salesforce
The user interface is a little 2001 but the databases are reliable, robust and great to work with. We’ve had terrific success overlaying our own applications on top of the Salesforce database.
Skype
Free and fun-to-use phone/video conferencing/chat service. FREE calls to Australia... need we say more?
Things
Things is our favorite task management tool of the moment... and we've tried them all. Things's beauty is in its pure simplicity. Creating and tagging tasks works as fast as you can type, no thinking required. As an added bonus, Things automatically syncs with your iPhone if you iPhone and computer are on the same wireless network. How cool is that?
